Ahli manager Hossam Al-Badri has decided to keep Egypt U-20 trio Mohamed Talaat, Ahmed Shoukri and Shehab Ahmed with the first team, whereas playmaker Afroto will train with the youth. The Cairo club's official site stated that the trio was selected due to the team's need to their services in the upcoming period. Despite a poor World Cup campaign, striker Talaat has already established himself with the Ahli first team, thanks to some impressive performances under Manuel Jose last term. On the contrary, Afroto grabbed the attention during Egypt 2009, but the livewire midfielder has yet to convince Al-Badri. Afroto joins Hesham Mohamed, Moaz Al-Hennawi, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf and Mahmoud Toba back to the U-20s.
