Egypt's Healthcare Authority (EHA) head Ahmed El-Sobky on Thursday met Huawei's First Vice President and CEO of Global Public Business to review progress following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in China last April, the Cabinet said. Discussions included plans to establish a national centre for health data science and artificial intelligence applications, serving as a hub for innovative tech solutions, according to the announcement. The authority currently manages over 6 million electronic medical records and half a billion AI-supported digital radiology images, underscoring its advanced digital transformation, El-Sobky added. The partnership also aims to support green digital transformation through energy-efficient smart systems and intelligent monitoring applications to optimise resource management, ensuring environmental and economic sustainability. Huawei's First Vice President, Wind Li Junfeng, is dedicated to enhancing Egypt's digital healthcare by creating the region's first smart medical cities with AI and IoT technologies to improve healthcare services.
