Egypt's Healthcare Authority (EHA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric Egypt to develop infrastructure and implement smart and sustainable health solutions, a statement from the Cabinet said on Monday. The agreement was signed during a broad Schneider Electric event featuring partnership deals with major national and international organisations across multiple sectors, according to the Cabinet statement. This cooperation aligns with EHA's strategy to develop a smart, sustainable healthcare infrastructure that supports the Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA) system and delivers world-class medical services. Ahmed El-Sobky, chairman of the EHA, said the authority is steadily building a modern healthcare system capable of meeting citizens' needs and ensuring equitable access to high-quality services, the statement explained. El-Sobky added that the collaboration with Schneider Electric reflects EHA's commitment to adopting the latest technologies and smart solutions to enhance operational efficiency and environmental sustainability within its facilities. He highlighted EHA's emphasis on digital transformation in healthcare management to integrate innovation and smart systems for optimising resources, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing safety and efficiency. The MoU outlines multiple areas of cooperation, including integrated energy management models, operational efficiency enhancement, and the exchange of technical and consultancy expertise in healthcare facility planning. It also aims to boost EHA's capabilities in adopting and implementing future smart technologies. El-Sobky said the partnership aims to create a unique model for implementing sustainable technology in healthcare infrastructure that can be replicated in all UHIA-covered governorates for fair and effective healthcare delivery.
