Egypt's Ministry of Supply, in coordination with Catholic Relief Services (CRS Egypt), dispatched its 15th urgent relief convoy to the Gaza Strip on Sunday, continuing Cairo's efforts to support Palestinians amid worsening humanitarian conditions. The convoy carries 12,000 mattresses, 16,300 blankets, and 4,000 mats, totaling approximately 136 tons, aimed at meeting basic needs and alleviating suffering in the blockaded territory, the ministry said. "This convoy is part of our ongoing commitment to provide humanitarian support to the Palestinian people," said Minister Sherif Farouk. "We are working closely with international organisations to ensure aid reaches those in need as quickly as possible." Since the outbreak of the crisis, Egypt has sent 15 relief convoys in cooperation with Catholic Relief Services, transporting around 1,766 tons of aid via 255 trucks and five aircraft. The shipments have included tents, mattresses, blankets, mats, hygiene kits, and other essential living supplies. Ahmed Fathy, Vice Chairman of the General Committee for Foreign Aid, said the convoys are carefully prepared to meet daily needs, and future shipments are coordinated with Catholic Relief Services in Gaza to ensure aid reaches the areas of greatest need.
