Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Monday with Housing Minister Sherif El Sherbiny, Chairman of Arab Contractors Ahmed El Assar, and CEO of Elsewedy Electric Ahmed Elsewedy to follow up on the implementation of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Dam and Power Plant project in the United Republic of Tanzania. The project is being carried out by the Egyptian consortium of Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric. Madbouly said the meeting comes as part of efforts to monitor progress on this major development project, which is closely followed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He stressed Sisi's constant directives to ensure the project's components and phases are executed at the highest level. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the project as a testament to the capabilities of Egyptian national companies to implement large-scale international projects, especially in Africa. He noted that this supports Egypt's broader efforts to contribute to development across the continent. Madbouly praised the performance of the Egyptian consortium, saying Egypt is ready to participate in similar development projects in other African nations. He also noted that, in line with President Sisi's directives, a government committee was formed to follow up on the project. He said this committee had a tangible impact in advancing the work and coordinating with the Tanzanian government.
