Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atty met Thursday with Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny to discuss expanding cooperation with African nations, focusing on infrastructure, construction, and sustainable development projects. The meeting, held as part of efforts to strengthen Egypt's engagement with the continent, highlighted opportunities for Egyptian companies to contribute to major infrastructure projects in Africa. The two ministers stressed the importance of leveraging Egypt's technical expertise in housing, utilities, and construction to support development across the continent. They cited Egypt's role in the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Dam project in Tanzania—implemented by Egyptian firms—as a model for successful intra-African cooperation. The talks also touched on mechanisms to promote Egyptian investment in Africa's housing and utilities sectors and ensure closer coordination between the two ministries to align with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directive to enhance ties with African partners.
