Egypt exported 175,000 tons of food products in the week ending July 18, 2025, with potatoes and grapes topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) reported on Sunday. A total of 3,250 consignments were exported by 1,200 companies, covering 640 categories of vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items, according to the report. Vegetable exports hit 30,000 tons, with potatoes leading the way with 8,000 tons, followed by various beans at 6,000 tons and onions at 5,000 tons. Fruit exports totalled 26,000 tons across 26 varieties, with grapes and strawberries leading at 8,000 tons each, followed by citrus fruits at 6,000 tons. Somalia, Turkey, Lebanon, and the Sudan were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 166 importing countries during the week.
