Egypt exported 155,000 tons of food products in the week ending June 20, with onions and grapes topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said in a weekly report on Sunday. A total of 3,420 consignments were exported by 1,100 companies, covering 615 categories of vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items, according to the report. Vegetable exports reached 30,000 tons across 46 varieties, led by onions at 11,000 tons, followed by potatoes at 7,000 tons and mixed frozen vegetables at 5,000 tons. Fruit exports totalled 45,000 tons from 30 types, with grapes leading at 20,000 tons, followed by citrus fruits at 11,000 tons and strawberries at 10,000 tons. Indonesia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Russia were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 205 importing countries during the week.
