Egypt exported 300,000 tons of food products in a 13-day period ending June 13th, with potatoes and grapes topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said in a weekly report on Sunday. A total of 5,806 consignments were exported by 1,640 companies, covering 670 categories of vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items, according to the report. Vegetable exports reached 60,000 tons across 50 varieties, led by potatoes at 20,000 tons, followed by onions at 16,000 tons and mixed frozen vegetables at 6,000 tons. Fruit exports totalled 75,000 tons from 30 types, with grapes leading at 25,000 tons, followed by strawberries at 17,000 tons and citrus fruits at 16,000 tons. Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 200 importing countries during the week.
