Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty on Monday evening. During the meeting, Abdel-Aty delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, reaffirming the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and expressing Egypt's keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination across various fields, while supporting security and stability in Africa. Abdel-Aty conveyed President Sisi's greetings and appreciation to President Tinubu, praising the historic and close ties between Egypt and Nigeria. He stressed Egypt's commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in light of the two nations' shared aspirations for greater stability, development, and security across the African continent. He also expressed Egypt's appreciation for Nigeria's official endorsement of Dr Khaled El-Anany's candidacy for the post of UNESCO Director-General. The Egyptian Foreign Minister reiterated Cairo's readiness to share its expertise and offer full support, including training and operational assistance, as well as efforts to combat extremist ideology through Al-Azhar and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding.
