Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas revealed that his ambitions for the next period will be directed towards helping the club for more economic and financial progress. Abbas was re-selected by the Egyptian Higher Council of Sports as Zamalek's president for the next year, and the Zamalek chairman has already set his goals. "Our main focus for the next period will be achieving economical growth, because sports success heavily depends on funding," Abbas told FilGoal.com exclusively. Zamalek suffered lately from poor funding, a problem which had its negative effect on the sports teams especially the football team that won nothing in the last three years. "We will generate new projects in order to regain our financial strength and be able to compete, we hope that the club members could contribute as well," Abbas added. "The projects will include benefiting from official sponsors, TV rights and using a marketing approach." Abbas was selected as Zamalek president last year in place of previous chairman Mortada Mansour, who had his fair share of problems with the previous board.
