Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) is looking to strengthen cooperation with Singapore in port digitalisation and investment across key sectors, SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El Dien said on Monday. His remarks came during talks in Cairo with Singapore's Ambassador to Egypt, Dominic Goh focused on exploring joint opportunities in industrial zones, logistics hubs, and affiliated seaports. "SCZONE presents a wealth of investment opportunities across 21 diverse industrial and logistical sectors," Gamal El Dien said, highlighting the zone's strategic connectivity between six seaports on the Red Sea and Mediterranean and its integrated industrial bases. He added that the zone is in discussions with Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) to implement advanced smart port systems as part of a broader digital transformation strategy aimed at boosting efficiency, transparency, and cargo handling capacity. SCZONE is one of Egypt's flagship investment destinations, positioned along the Suez Canal to serve as a regional trade and manufacturing hub. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: Y.Yasser
