Egypt and Sudan's foreign ministers met with the United Nations' top humanitarian coordinator on Tuesday to coordinate efforts to deliver critical aid amid Sudan's mounting crisis. Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Atty and his Sudanese Foreign counterpart Mohieldin Salim joined Tom Fletcher, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, in a high-level tripartite discussion focused on bolstering the international response and ensuring aid reaches the most vulnerable populations. Abdel-Atty reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to Sudan's territorial integrity and national institutions, emphasising the country's role in facilitating humanitarian assistance through land, sea, and air ports. He also praised the Sudanese Humanitarian Aid Commission for easing visas and transit permits for UN staff and humanitarian workers, a move welcomed by international officials.
