The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) received over 12,000 visitors from Egypt and abroad throughout early morning until 14:00 p.m. local time on Monday, its seventh straight day of strong public turnout since opening to the public on 4 Nov. According to Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the museum, visitor traffic has been smooth, with Sunday, 9 Nov. alone seeing around 17,000 people, and the average daily attendance since the museum's launch reaching 19,000 visitors, the tourism ministry said in a statement. The surge reflects strong local and international interest across all age groups and nationalities. "The growing international attention underscores the museum's status as a premier cultural and tourist destination, and we remain committed to providing an exceptional experience for every visitor," Ghoneim said. The museum was officially inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on 1 Nov. during a global ceremony attended by 79 official delegations, including 39 led by kings, princes, and heads of state.
