Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding on road expertise exchange on the sidelines of the 6th Smart Transport, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Traffic for the Middle East and Africa (TransMEA '25). The agreement links Egypt's Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Institute of Transport, with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, represented by the Roads General Authority. It aims to foster cooperation in road planning, development, research, and technical training. Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir said the partnership reflects the two countries' longstanding ties and commitment to opening new channels of cooperation amid regional challenges. "Egypt and Saudi Arabia... always together," he said. The MoU is expected to strengthen knowledge exchange, boost human resource development, and enhance scientific research in road infrastructure, offering opportunities for joint projects and professional skill-building for specialists in both countries.
