Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel-Atty met on Monday with Kate Forbes, president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), to discuss the vital role of international cooperation in Gaza's recovery. Minister Abdel-Atty underscored the importance of all national societies within the IFRC coming together to implement Egypt's recovery plan, particularly focusing on the early recovery phase. He also highlighted the Arab Summit's endorsement of Egypt's plan for Gaza's early recovery and reconstruction. The minister also outlined Egypt's ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid in the region, including in Gaza, Sudan, Lebanon, and Syria. He expressed Egypt's ambition to become a regional hub for managing international relief operations. He emphasised the country's extensive work in hosting refugees and migrants, offering vital services, and facilitating their integration into Egyptian society. Moreover, Minister Abdel-Atty reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening its partnership with the IFRC, which connects over 190 national societies worldwide. He also discussed Egypt's key role in stabilising the ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the importance of international action to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
