Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atty met with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral economic and investment cooperation, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. During the meeting in the Slovenian city of Bled, Abdel-Atty conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and praised the longstanding friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries. He emphasised Egypt's interest in building on recent progress to expand cooperation across trade, investment, and technology sectors. The discussions focused on opportunities in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Abdel-Atty also invited the Slovenian president to attend the inauguration of Egypt's Grand Egyptian Museum, describing it as a landmark event highlighting the country's cultural and regional significance. On regional affairs, Abdel-Atty outlined Egypt's efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and ease humanitarian suffering, praising Slovenia's support for Palestinian rights, including its official recognition of the State of Palestine. He also commended Slovenia's backing of Egypt within European Union institutions. Pirc Musar, in turn, conveyed her appreciation for Egypt's constructive regional role and its handling of complex regional issues, particularly the Palestinian question.
