Sisi extends Waleid Gamal El-Dein as SCZone chair for fourth year

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday issued Decree No. 427 of 2025, renewing the appointment of Waleid Gamal El-Dein as Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), with the rank of minister, for a one-year term starting 12 August 2025.
The renewal marks the beginning of his fourth year at the helm of the authority.
Gamal El-Dein previously served as Executive Director of the Suez Canal Economic Zone from January 2020, before being appointed Vice Chairman for Investment and Promotion in May 2022 by presidential decree. He was named Chairman of the authority on 12 August 2022 by President El-Sisi.
