Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met on Monday with Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh Reddy to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the ICT sector. Talks centred on outsourcing, digital capacity-building, artificial intelligence, start-up support, and attracting further Indian investment into Egypt's growing ICT market. The meeting reviewed progress under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Egypt and India, which covers e-government, ICT industry development, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, capacity-building, as well as collaboration in electronics design and manufacturing, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Indian investments in outsourcing, electronics manufacturing, and digital transformation in Egypt were also highlighted. Talaat stressed the ICT sector's growing role as a key driver of Egypt's economy, particularly in outsourcing. He pointed to successful partnerships with Indian IT firms already operating in Egypt and underlined ongoing cooperation between Egypt's Information Technology Institute (ITI) and its Indian counterpart in digital skills development. He expressed hopes for further collaboration under ministry initiatives to strengthen Egypt's digital talent pool. Ambassador Reddy congratulated Talaat on Egypt's selection to host the inaugural AI Everything Middle East and Africa Summit and Exhibition next February. He noted that India will also host the AI Impact Summit in the same month, describing both events as milestones in advancing international collaboration on artificial intelligence. He voiced confidence that ICT ties between Egypt and India would continue to grow. The talks were attended by Sherine El Gendy, Assistant ICT Minister for Strategy and Implementation, and Samah Aziz, Head of International Relations at the Ministry.
