Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Thursday in Cairo with Kamil Idris, Prime Minister of Sudan's transitional government, and his accompanying delegation. The talks addressed the development of strategic relations between Egypt and the Sudan, and ways to support and advance them across various fields to help restore stability in the Sudan and achieve the aspirations of both peoples for development and prosperity. President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's firm and supportive position on the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Sudan. He stressed Egypt's full backing for all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the Sudan and ending the current humanitarian crisis in a way that preserves the country's resources. The two sides also discussed efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis and meet the Sudanese people's aspirations for peace and stability. They further explored ways of cooperation in Sudan's reconstruction. The meeting also included an exchange of views on the latest regional developments, with both sides underlining the importance of continued coordination and consultation on all issues of mutual concern.
