Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Sunday in Cairo with Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President for Arab, Middle Eastern and African Affairs, to discuss developments in the Middle East and efforts to restore regional stability. Gaza Aid President Sisi stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the delivery of humanitarian aid. He praised the joint mediation efforts by Egypt, the United States and Qatar, and affirmed Egypt's commitment to maintaining coordination in the coming period. For his part, Boulos reaffirmed the US commitment to continued cooperation with Egypt to restore calm in the region in a way that serves the interests of all parties. Libya Crisis The meeting also addressed the situation in Libya and ways to restore stability in the country. Sisi reiterated Egypt's support for a Libyan-led solution, noting that Egypt has been the most affected by Libya's instability and remains committed to supporting all political settlement efforts. He called for agreement on a unified and credible government backed by the House of Representatives, the High Council of State and the Presidential Council, with a clear mandate to hold simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. The two sides also discussed the situations in Lebanon, Sudan and Yemen, underlining the critical importance of safeguarding stability, preserving resources, and upholding sovereignty in these countries. The talks extended to Africa, including developments in the Horn of Africa and the Sahel, and efforts to reinforce stability, support government institutions and promote the interests of the region's peoples.
