President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed on Tuesday with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun the latest regional developments and efforts to achieve calm and de-escalation, reaffirming Egypt's firm support for Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its categorical rejection of any violations of Lebanese sovereignty. Sisi, in a phone call, reiterated to his Lebanese counterpart Egypt's backing for the efforts of Lebanon's national institutions to restore security and stability. He also stressed Egypt's commitment to assisting the Lebanese government in reconstruction efforts — a position appreciated by President Aoun. The two leaders also underlined the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, an end to Israeli aggression, the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages and detainees. They further emphasised the prompt launch of reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed the consistent stance of Egypt and Lebanon in supporting the Palestinian people, their legitimate right to establish an independent state, and rejecting their forced displacement.
