Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza during talks with Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Kuwait on Tuesday. The two leaders called for the immediate exchange of hostages and detainees, and the swift entry of sufficient humanitarian aid. They also voiced full support for the Arab plan for Gaza's recovery and reconstruction, urging its implementation once the ceasefire is in place. Both Sisi and Sheikh Mishal reiterated their categorical rejection of any displacement of Palestinians and reaffirmed the need for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian cause through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The discussions also touched on the situations in Syria and Sudan, with both leaders affirming their support for the unity and stability of both countries, as well as backing the legitimate Yemeni government. They further stressed the importance of ensuring security and stability in the Red Sea and regional waterways. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
