Egypt's General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Chairman Waleid Gamal El Dein held a meeting on Sunday with an official delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee led by Chen Xiaofeng. The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to build on recent promotional talks held during the zone's successful investment tour in China, which resulted in the signing of several project agreements and preliminary understandings on future ventures. Gamal El Dein presented SCZONE's key advantages, including its strategic geographic location, access to global markets through numerous free trade agreements, and integration of industrial, logistics, and port areas – enabling proximity between production hubs and target markets, in line with the "Near-Shoring" concept. He also highlighted attractive financial and non-financial incentives, including tax and customs exemptions. He described SCZONE as a viable solution for investors seeking to navigate global economic and geopolitical challenges, underlining its strategic partnership with Chinese investors across targeted sectors. Gamal El Dein expressed interest in deepening ties with the CCPIT Guangdong Committee to promote investment opportunities within the SCZONE and urged Chinese businesses to capitalise on the momentum of recent talks and convert them into concrete projects.
