Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) held talks on Sunday with a high-level Chinese delegation led by Guangdong Province Governor Wang Weizhong to explore new avenues for industrial, logistics, and port cooperation. The meeting, hosted by SCZone Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Din, aimed to build on existing Chinese investments and expand strategic collaboration in key sectors, including automotive manufacturing, renewable energy, and technology. "We are working to make the most of successful Chinese partnerships in the SCZone and are seeking broader cooperation supported by the political leadership of both countries," Gamal El-Din said, citing the diversity and growth of Chinese businesses operating in the zone. Guangdong's governor praised the SCZone for its investment incentives and strategic location, calling it a "global hub" for logistics and industrial exports, especially given Egypt's international and free trade agreements, according to a SCZone statement. The visit included senior provincial officials, embassy representatives, and executives from major Chinese firms. Governor Wang said the province encourages its companies to invest in the SCZone and expressed interest in knowledge exchange and further integration of economic ties between the two countries. The SCZone has emerged as a key component of Egypt's industrial development strategy, offering tax incentives, infrastructure, and proximity to global shipping routes via the Suez Canal.
