6 People Isolated on Suspicion of Avian Flu; Thousands of Poultry Culled in 4 Provinces

In Beheira, the Damanhour Fever Hospital has isolated Ahmed Mohamed Shawky, 3, Hossam Hamed Moussa, 29, Fardos Ali Karam, and Reda Eissa, 52, of which samples were taken for analysis.
Ramadan Mahdi Ahmed Ali, 30, was isolated in the hospital in Menya, and Rawheya Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud, 52, was isolated in Qena.
In Ismailia, 4052 chickens have been culled, and three cars loaded with poultry were stopped before smuggling them in. Also other cars loaded with 44 tons of poultry and swine waste were stopped before smuggling it in to be used as fertilizers.
 
In Sohag, six shops selling birds were closed down and a farm of 2000 chicks was seized, as it did not meet the veterinary requirements.
In Qalyubia, an unlicensed store was caught slaughtering 4,000 chickens to sell them as filet pieces to the restaurants, while 2030 birds were culled in Suez.
In Dakahlia, 6189 birds were culled, 353 home farms were removed and 51 shops selling live birds were closed down, while 323 birds were donated for the orphanages of Talkha and Bandar Mansoura.
