Suez Canal Authority's Head, Mohab Mamish announced that 42 ships weighing 2.7 million tons crossed Monday through the Suez Canal, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 25 ships weighing 1.5 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal while 18 ships weighing 1.2 million tons have crossed through the south. The largest ship crossed the canal from the north of the canal was "SHAGRA " LNG tanker weighing 166 thousand tons, coming from England heading to UAE, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Panamanian "MAREN MAERSK" container ship weighing 200 thousand tons.
