Canal Suez Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 298 Ships weighing 15.5 million tons crossed through the canal in the last six days, Youm7 News reported Friday. Mamish pointed out that 157 ships weighing 7.5 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal, adding that 141 ships weighing 8 million tons have crossed through the south. The largest ship crossed the canal from the north was the Danish ship "MADISON MAERSK" coming from Morocco, heading to Singapore weighing 200 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Danish "MAREN MAERSK" weighing also 200 thousand tons.
