Head of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish announced that 259 Ships weighing 14.1 million tons have crossed through the canal in the last six days, Youm7 News reported Friday. Mamish pointed out that 123 ships weighing 6 million and 500 thousand tons have crossed from the north gate, adding that 136 ships weighing 7 million and 600 thousand tons have crossed from the south. He added that the largest ship that crossed the canal from the north was the Danish container ship "MAREN MAERSK" coming from Spain, heading to Malaysia weighing 200,000 tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Dansih container ship "MATHHILDA MAERSK" weighing also 200,000 tons.
