Suez Canal Authority head, Mohab Mamish announced that 42 ships weighing 2 million and 200 thousand tons crossed Monday through the Suez Canal, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 23 ships weighing 1 million and 100 thousand tons have crossed through the north of the canal while 19 ships weighing 1 million and 100 thousand tons have crossed through the south. The largest ship crossing the canal from the north was the Singaporean "MAERSK EUBANK" container ship coming from France, heading to Colombia weighing 146 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was the Panamanian "MSC CLORINDA" container ship weighing 158 thousand tons, he added.
