Suez Canal Authority's head, Mohab Mamish announced that 53 ships weighing 3.1 million tons crossed Tuesday through Suez Canal, Youm7 News reported. Mamish pointed out that 32 ships weighing 2 million tons have crossed through the north of the canal while 21 ships weighing 1 million and 100 thousand tons have crossed through the south. He added that the largest ship crossed the canal from the north of the canal was the Danish ship "EBBA MAERSK" coming from France, heading to Sri Lanka weighing 171 thousand tons, while the largest ship to cross from the south was "OLYMPIC LIBERTY" oil tanker weighing 163 thousand tons.
