Egypt's police in the Mediterranean city of Matrouh arrested Sunday 16 Egyptians and a Sudanese national over attempting to illegally infiltrate Libya, Al Bawaba News reported. The Egyptian detainees mostly come from southern provinces with only one from the northeastern province of Beheira, security sources said. Over the past four years, large numbers of infiltrators, including Africans, have been arrested over the same accusations.
