The Egyptian press provided thorough coverage of the World Youth Forum held in Sharm El-Sheikh. The daily Al-Ahram quoted President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi as saying "combating terrorism is a new human right". Al-Akhbar quoted the president as saying "the state is serious in opening channels with youth". The private daily Al-Watan quoted the minister of education as saying "we prepared a sustained strategy for education until 2030". Al-Ahram's editorial pinpointed the messages that President Al-Sisi sent via the forum. The first, sent to the whole world, is that terrorism is infringing on humanity which is why he considered combating it as one of the human rights. The second message, directed to youths, the edit said, was that only enthusiastic young people are capable of achieving their hopes and ambitions and building a better future. The third message focused on Egypt's comprehensive vision regarding peace and security in the region and the world. "That vision aims to create a secure and stable world in which individuals can live in peace and freedom of expression, without violence or racial, sectarian or religious discrimination," the edit added. Mohamed Barakat warned that our justified absorption in the forum that witnessed the participation of more than 3,000 youths from around the world should not distract us from what is going on around the world. The Arab region, Barakat wrote, is teeming with changes and developments that deserve careful follow-up. The clear attempts to divide Syria are on top of these changes. That requires a clear Arab stand against any attempt to encroach on the unity of Syria. Barakat also pointed to the abrupt resignation of Lebanon's Premier Saad Al-Hariri which he announced from Saudi Arabia after he revealed that he faced assassination attempts and that Hizbullah is spreading havoc in Lebanon. The writer also shed light on the developments in Libya and the attempts of terrorist groups that have recently moved there from Syria and Iraq to shake the stability and security of Egypt via shared borders. That is not acceptable by any means, Barakat summed up in his regular column in Al-Akhbar. Suleiman Gouda focused on the latest developments in Saudi Arabia. He noted that people were engaged by two developments: the first was detaining princes and present and previous ministers. It is the first time that Riyadh takes such measures to combat corruption in the Kingdom that involves men of such weight. "The only words that can describe these developments are 'Saudi Arabia is changing drastically'", Gouda wrote. The second development was the resignation of Al-Hariri who hinted that his life was in danger and that the atmosphere in the country reminded him of that which overwhelmed the country ahead of the assassination of his father Rafiq 12 years ago. Saad Al-Hariri's resignation, Gouda explained in the private daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, moved the confrontation with Hizbullah and Iran in Lebanon and the whole region to a more advanced phase. "If there is a lesson to be learnt from Al-Hariri's resignation, it is that we are in need of a completely different strategy to face Iran.
