Egypt strengthens inter-ministerial cooperation to upgrade healthcare sector
Published in Daily News Egypt on 10 - 09 - 2025

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held two high-level meetings with senior government officials to advance coordination across sectors, as part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to modernize its healthcare system and improve public services.
In a meeting with Hatem Nabil, head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, the discussion focused on enhancing administrative efficiency and developing human resources within the health sector. Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the importance of establishing an integrated administrative system that clearly defines roles and responsibilities, supports effective decision-making, and improves service delivery.
According to Health Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the talks also covered efforts to improve the ambulance network and public therapeutic institutions. The evaluation of current organizational structures and job descriptions was also addressed, with the goal of streamlining daily operations and achieving better internal coordination across ministry departments.
Nabil reaffirmed the agency's readiness to provide technical and procedural support to meet the staffing needs of healthcare institutions. He stressed that human resources are central to successful reform and pledged to help optimize workforce management by leveraging existing expertise and ensuring transparency.
In a separate meeting held at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Minister Abdel Ghaffar received Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, Minister of State for Military Production, to discuss joint projects between the two ministries. The health minister emphasized the need to accelerate project implementation, adhere to established timelines, and conduct regular follow-ups to overcome any obstacles.
The meeting reviewed several national infrastructure projects—including hospitals, strategic medical warehouses, and family development centers—with some scheduled for completion in 2025.
Minister Mostafa noted that his ministry, through its 19 affiliated companies, is contributing industrial and technical expertise to support these initiatives. He affirmed that the collaboration with the Ministry of Health aligns with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's Vision 2030, and is aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for Egyptian citizens.
These meetings reflect the government's commitment to advancing presidential healthcare initiatives, expanding infrastructure, and raising the efficiency of the national health system to better serve millions across the country.
