Egypt and Germany have kicked off preliminary government negotiations this week in Berlin aimed at strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, the Egyptian Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation said Monday. The discussions, held at the expert level, pave the way for final negotiations co-chaired by Egypt's Minister Rania Al-Mashat and Germany's Economic Cooperation and Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan. Officials from both countries' key government agencies are participating. "The talks reflect the strength and resilience of bilateral relations and both governments' commitment to exploring new areas of cooperation," Al-Mashat said. She highlighted efforts to build on progress in trade, investment, and broader economic partnerships achieved in recent years. Al-Mashat is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with German counterparts, participate in negotiation sessions, and witness the signing of several cooperation agreements. She will also host a roundtable with German private-sector firms to discuss Egypt's economic developments, investment climate, and business reforms across multiple sectors. The negotiations come amid growing interest in deepening Egypt's strategic ties with Europe and enhancing trade and investment flows between the two countries. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
