Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post confirmed the resumption of Egyptian natural gas flow to Israel since Thursday October 20. The newspaper added the resumption of gas flow was as a preliminary phase to increase Egyptian natural gas flow to Israel during the next few days in order to get back to its normal level. The newspaper assured the increase of gas flow will stop Israel's daily dramatic losses, estimated at millions of U.S. dollars daily since the sixth explosion of the export natural gas station in Arish. “Egypt resumed the flow of Egyptian natural gas to Israel's Electricity Company. Egyptian natural gas's support won't reach its normal levels like before; it was reduced by 30 percent,” the Israeli Ministry of Infrastructure announced October 23. Jerusalem Post assured Egyptian natural gas provides 40 percent of the needs of Israeli National Electricity Company, which used other sources instead of Egyptian natural gas to generate energy during the past few months. It was mentioned the price of electricity in Israel increased by 10 percent, after Israeli Electricity Company's used expensive diesel fuel to generate energy instead of Egyptian natural gas, which was costing Israeli nearly U.S. $2.76 million daily.
