Zamalek-bound and Syrian striker Abdul-Fattah Al-Agha claimed on Wednesday that he signed a three-and-a-half year deal with Ahli. Al-Agha was expected to join Zamalek on the same day, according to the Whites' spokesman Sabri Serag. Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan demanded to run the rule over Al-Agha, but the 23-year-old international refused. "I didn't accept to go through a trial period," Al-Agha told FilGoal.com late on Wednesday. "I signed for Ahli, who were ready to offer me a contract." Ahli haven't issued any statements concerning Al-Agha. No Ahli official was available for immediate comment. Both Ahli and Zamalek are keen on signing new strikers in the winter transfer window.
Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan Zamalek will go through the second half of the season without Amr Zaki, who joined Premier League side Hull City on loan. They also might lose Mido, who is considering offers from four European clubs, including Fulham and Hull City. Ahli, set to let strikers Osama Hosni and Ahmed Belal go, are in search for new marksmen as well. No Regrets Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com that he will have no regrets if Al-Agha signed for Ahli. "It's our policy not to sign any player without seeing him in a couple of training sessions," he said.
Zamalek will no more land players after watching them on video tapes Ibrahim Hassan "Zamalek will no more land players after watching them on video tapes. I wish him good luck at any other club." Several low-profile players proved to be flops after joining Zamalek in the last few years, something that makes the club cautious in their new signings. Hossam Sedik, Al-Agha's agent, said he was frustrated after Zamalek's deal was blocked. "Zamalek and Al-Agha failed to reach any compromises," he told FilGoal.com. "I respect Hossam Hassan's view point but I can't force Abdul-Fattah to join Zamalek training without signing a contract."
