Middlesbrough coach Gareth Southgate said Mohamed Shawky might be fit for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Chelsea despite picking up an injury. The Egyptian midfielder was replaced during the break in Boro's 2-1 FA Cup victory over Wolves on Saturday, making way for Justin Hoyte. "Shawky might be okay (for Wednesday)," Southgate was quoted as saying by Teamtalk on Sunday. "He was feeling his hamstring at half-time and the way resources are for us we didn't want to take a chance so we decided to make the change." Shawky has been playing regular first-team football for a while due to the injury of several midfielders. Middlesbrough's poor run of results saw them slip to the relegation zone. They lie third from bottom on 21 points.
