Hong Kong's exports to Asia rose by 17.2 per cent year-on-year in June 2025, buoyed by strong demand from regional partners, the Census and Statistics Department reported on Monday. Shipments to Malaysia grew 52.6 per cent, followed by the Philippines at 48.3 per cent, Vietnam at 37.6 per cent, mainland China at 18.3 per cent, and India at 12.5 per cent. In contrast, exports to South Korea fell 10.9 per cent during the same period. Beyond Asia, Hong Kong's outbound trade saw steep declines, with exports to the Netherlands plunging 35.5 per cent and shipments to the United States dropping 12.1 per cent. On the import side, goods arriving from Vietnam surged 50.6 per cent, followed by the United Kingdom at 44.7 per cent, mainland China at 17.3 per cent, and Thailand at 15.9 per cent.
