Platinum Stars coach Miguel Gamondi has set his strategy to cause a major CAF Champions League upset and eliminate five-time champions Ahli from the round of 16. Stars, who have a 2-1 lead from the first leg, will face a tough task at the 100,000-spectators Cairo Stadium on Friday, but Gamondi is not willing to sit back and defend. "It's a big mistake to go there to defend," the Argentine coach was quoted by the Times newspaper. "We know the crowd will put huge pressure on us in the first 20 minutes and try to intimidate the referee. Luckily, we are used to having very little support — every game is an away game for us!" Vulnerable Gamondi seems to be well aware of his opposition's quality, as well as points of weaknesses, which he plans to focus on like he did in the first leg. The Stars tactician believes that Ahli's goal has become vulnerable, following the departure of Egypt's number one Essam Al-Hadari. "In the first leg, we knew their goalkeeper was vulnerable. Since Essam El-Hadari went to FC Sion, Ahli are not the same side." "We attacked their weaknesses. Ahli are brilliant with the ball, but not so great without it. "We kept possession as much as we could and played the ball into the channels where the pace of our forwards would trouble their defenders, who are not the quickest."
