Platinum Stars coach Miguel Gamondi said he can't wait to have the opportunity of facing Egyptian champions Ahli in the CAF Champions League this season. The South African side are on brink of setting up a last 16 tie with five-time champions Ahli after recording a 2-0 first leg win over minnows Stade Tamponnaise of Reunion. "It will be very interesting to face a team that has been the best in Africa for past 10 years. This will be good for the team and great experience for my players," said Gamondi. "We are definitely hungry to get the chance of playing Ahli in the tournament so that we can gauge where we stand in relation to the best clubs on the continent." Platinum are currently 10th in the ABSA Premier League, 14 points adrift of leaders Supersport United.
