Zamalek are not in a hurry to sign Konyaspor defender Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa due to the existence of many options in the team's back-line, club board member Sabri Abou-Alam said. "We have plenty of defenders like Amr Al-Safti, Wael Al-Qabani, Tamer Abdul-Wahab in addition of new signing Wissem Al-Abdi," Abou-Alam told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. "Assistant manager and football director Mahmoud Saad will have the final word whether we will push for Al-Saqqa's deal or not." The Egypt international defender arrived in Cairo on Tuesday to finalize the deal with Zamalek and said that only minor details are yet to be sorted out. However, Abou-Alam hinted that the Cairo giants are likely to acquire the services of Al-Saqqa in the summer rather than the January transfer window. Zamalek are enduring a process of renovating their poor defense which conceded 15 goals in 18 Egyptian League matches so far. Sfaxien defender Al-Abdi was the first to arrive on a two-year deal for $400,000.
