ABU DHABI, May 2 (MENA) - A meeting of the high-level Consultative Group to Counter Terrorism and Extremism of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) kicked off in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday with the participation of Egyptian Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal. The get-together will tackle a number of issues topped by reviewing a report on the group's first meeting held in February in the Swiss city of Geneva besides the outcome of the joint program between the IPU and the United Nations (UN) on enhancing the role of the parliamentarians in fighting terrorism. Participants in the meeting will also probe means of confronting hate speech and terrorism incitement in addition to modern technology which the parliaments can depend on in this field.
