Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with Norway's Minister of International Development, Åsmund Aukrust, on the sidelines of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), hosted in Seville, Spain, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Monday. Madbouly praised the strong partnership with several Norwegian companies operating in Egypt, particularly highlighting the efforts of renewable energy firm Scatec and its key projects in the country. He expressed hope for deepening bilateral cooperation, especially through increased trade that reflects the close political ties between Egypt and Norway. The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional issues and efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East. Madbouly reiterated that peace cannot be achieved without securing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people through the two-state solution based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. Madbouly also addressed the burden Egypt bears in hosting around 10 million migrants, underscoring the services they receive and the strain on national resources. For his part, Aukrust stressed the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the start of reconstruction efforts. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S.
