Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty highlighted the country's efforts to empower the private sector and attract foreign direct investment, stressing Egypt's commitment to supporting international firms operating in the country. Among these is Norwegian company Scatec, whose projects align with Egypt's strategy to shift towards a green economy and become a global hub for green hydrogen production. In his meeting on Wednesday with Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum, Abdel-Aty emphasised the importance of building on the outcomes of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Norway in December 2024. He reaffirmed Egypt's full support for Scatec's projects, which contribute to deepening trade and investment ties between the two countries. Abdel-Aty expressed hope for increased investment by Scatec in Egypt and highlighted the company's planned project to export clean electricity to Europe. He also pointed to prospects for trilateral cooperation with Scatec in Africa, particularly in renewable energy development. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
