Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty has welcomed efforts to upgrade relations with the European Union under a comprehensive strategic partnership, with a focus on six key areas—particularly renewable energy and climate change, which he described as pillars of cooperation. During his meeting with European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen in Brussels on Thursday, Abdel-Aty outlined Egypt's efforts in renewable energy, climate action and the green transition. He noted Egypt's launch of a national hydrogen strategy and its drive to attract foreign investment in renewable energy, including from European partners such as Norwegian, Danish, Greek, Belgian and Italian companies. Abdel-Aty emphasised Egypt's commitment to balancing economic growth with green transformation, in line with its Vision 2030 goals. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the EU in advancing a green economy. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
