Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdel-Aty held on Tuesday strategic talks with Jean Luc Maurange, CEO of Belgium's John Cockerill Group, to explore expanded investments in green energy and hydrogen production. The meeting highlighted Egypt's efforts to create an investor-friendly business environment and boost private sector engagement. Minister Abdel-Aty invited John Cockerill to scale up its operations in Egypt, emphasising the nation's competitive incentives and robust infrastructure for foreign investors. The Egyptian government is committed to establishing Egypt as a global leader in clean and green energy, said Minister Abdel-Aty, referencing the country's ambitious green hydrogen production and export project at Gargoub Port. The minister also drew attention to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), positioning it as a gateway for European companies to tap into African markets through Egypt's extensive free trade agreements. John Cockerill Group, known for its expertise in clean energy solutions, was encouraged to explore opportunities in Egypt's growing renewable energy sector, including green fuel and hydrogen production.
