Egypt's Cabinet approved on Thursday a draft law mandating the minister of petroleum and mineral resources to amend the compliance agreement for oil exploration and production in the North Zafarana Development Area in the Gulf of Suez. The changes, involving the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and companies including CHEIRON ZAAFARANA PETROLEUM COMPANY LTD., OCEANEER ZAAFARANA LTD., and SAHARA OIL & GAS Company, aim to extend the development period and attract additional investment. The amendments are expected to boost production rates and increase recoverable petroleum reserves in the area. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
