The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy met with the head of the Global Harmonisation Working Party (GHWP) Xu Jinghe to discuss strengthening global collaboration in the regulation and production of medical devices. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2025 GHWP Technical Committee Leaders Meeting, which was hosted for the first time in Africa by the Egyptian Drug Authority. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation through constructive dialogue between regulators and industry leaders. The meeting also included a presentation on Egypt's regulatory framework and best practices in the oversight of medical devices. The EDA highlighted Egypt's growing role as a regional leader in regulatory affairs across the Middle East and Africa, as well as its active engagement with relevant international organisations.
