Asia stocks fall as Fed pause, Israel-Iran conflict weigh on sentiment

Asia-Pacific markets closed mostly lower on Thursday, as investors digested the US Federal Reserve's decision to hold interest rates steady and monitored developments in the Israel-Iran conflict.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index led regional losses, sliding more than 2 per cent. China's CSI 300 declined 0.82 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 1.02 per cent to 38,488.34 and the Topix shed 0.58 per cent to 2,792.08.
South Korea's Kospi bucked the trend, edging up 0.19 per cent to finish at 2,977.74. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was flat at 8,523.7.
